6.20 am Get moving down into Padstow - The trail of course is dry both ways - I know I wax lyrical about the Camel Trail at the best of times but this is a truly spectacular time of the year, we are going from Yellow and white backdrop to a pink phase - Campion / Valerian / Foxgloves with just a break about 100 metres up from the Bird Hide and you will smell it before you see it an overhanging Lilac Tree out in full bloom. Having said all that about downstream - there really is only one place to be at the moment and that is up river complete with a carpet of Wild Garlic and Gaff and Undertown Woods bedecked in Bluebells - the sounds of Deer rutting in the woodlands - Sea trout and Salmon making their way upstream. Tell me this is not the very best place to be. It looks like another relatively dry week - can we have it a little warmer though please.
I do hope you are able to join us on the Camel Trail dreckly I guarantee you will be well rewarded. Safe cycling - Nigel |
