The
Regal, situated on The Platt in Wadebridge and opened in January
1931 thus entertaining the people of Wadebridge, North Cornwall
and visitors for the past 75 years.
Today, the cinema boasts two auditoria, Theatres 1 & 2, seating
224 and 96 respectively. Theatre 1 is equipped with Pullman seating,
DTS, and Dolby Digital EX sound and Theatre 2 has large comfortable
seating and Dolby SR Stereo Sound. Both auditoria are fully air-conditioned
and have disabled access. Infra-red systems have been installed
for the hard of hearing.
The Regal was selected to host the British Premieres of "Amy Foster"
in April 1998 and "Saving Grace" in May 2000. The cinema is favored
by all the major film companies as a venue for their latest releases
and many films play concurrent with London and national openings.
A film club sponsored by North Cornwall Arts operates during the
winter months and the cinema provides matinee performances during
school holidays.
